Yandex.Taxi again revokes plea to antitrust to buy assets of Vezyot

MOSCOW, Mar 31 (PRIME) -- Russian online taxi hailing service Yandex.Taxi has again revoked its application from the Federal Antimonopoly Service to buy assets of taxi service Vezyot, a Yandex.Taxi spokesperson told PRIME on Tuesday.

“We withdrew our application on the deal with Vezyot, but our interest to the company remains,” the spokesperson said.

A source familiar with the course of the deal explained that Yandex.Taxi wants to focus on support of its current partners, drivers and taxi fleets as demand shrinks.

In mid-2019, Yandex.Taxi said it intended to buy software and call centers of group Vezyot, working in 123 cities of the country, and would invest 8 billion rubles in development of taxi in regions.

Yandex then revoked its application and filed a new one.
